Phoenix District Pushmobile

March 2 | Blackshear Elementary

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Pushmobile is a relay race using simple, homemade, Cub Scout-powered cars. Cub Scout dens make their own pushmobile. Four to eight youth work together as a team to push their pushmobile through the course to the finish line. The purpose of this event is to have fun, promote participation in a team effort, and to provide an activity where doing your best is most important.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)

Friday-Saturday, March 15-16 | Spring Creek Park

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
BALOO is a BSA national training designed to introduce Cub Scout Leaders to the basics of Cub Scout camping and outdoor events. A Pack is required to have at least one BALOO trained leader for any outdoor event, including packing camping, overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. BALOO training is comprised of two components – an online component and a practical, hands-on component. The online component must be completed prior to the practical component at my.scouting.org. The practical component is an overnight campout.

IOLS (Into. to Outdoor Leader Skills) & Scoutmaster Specific

Friday-Sunday, March 15-17 | Spring Creek Park

IOLS provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors. Adults work as patrols in this hands-on course. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. 

The training encompasses an overnight campout.

Phoenix District Camporee

April 12-14 | Camp Brosig

REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

Camporee is a weekend camp out for troops full of competition to test Scouting skills. Patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration and Scout spirit. 

Patrols will compete in events such as archery, tomahawk throwing, fire building, first aid, pioneering, orienteering, and nature study. Troops will be competing in the Grand Skills Relay. Scoutmasters will demonstrate their skills in a specialized cook-off. Saturday night will end the night at a wonderful campfire full of awards, songs, and skits.

Important (New for 2024): Packs who meet their Friends of Scouting (FOS) goal by 3/31/2024 will get a 50% discount. Before registering for Phoenix District Day Camp, check with your Cubmaster or committee chair to see if your unit qualifies for the discount (refunds will not be given).

Phoenix District Day Camp will have a new home this June. We are happy to announce Day Camp will be held at Bammel Church of Christ (2700 Cypress Creek Pkwy) on June 17-21, giving us private indoor and outdoor spaces for 2024 Outdoor Adventure!

Get ready for Cub Scout Day Camp 2024: Outdoor Adventure! Cub Scouts will explore a variety of Outdoor Adventures, learn new skills, and make new friends! Day Camp is open to Scout entering 1st grade - 5th grade next school year. Day camp is a week of fun with awesome programs and activities such as BB guns, archery, sports, STEM, games and crafts, rank advancements, Scout skills, fun, and more.

Many volunteers are needed to make camp a success, so please consider volunteering. 

Phoenix District Roundtable

Second Thursdays

7 p.m.

Roundtable is a district monthly meeting to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a great chance for leaders to learn from each other.

Breakouts for Cub Scout and Scouts BSA leaders are planned each month.

Phoenix OA Chapter

The Order of the Arrow is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America and recognizes Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.


The Phoenix Chapter meets monthly, usually on the first Sunday of the month at Troop 1323 Hut (5927 Louetta Rd.).
