Fall is a great time to focus on recruiting new families to the fun and adventure of Cub Scouting. Invite a family to join Scouting and learn more about membership recruitment.

Popcorn

Popcorn is underway! If you are selling by Show and Sell, Take Order, or Online now is the time to be getting out and selling!! The amazing Trail’s End app works as a digital cash register for Scouts to keep track of all purchases made. Scouts can accept credit cards (free of the transaction fee).

Items can be marked as “undelivered” and flagged to deliver to customers after the November popcorn pick-up. Scouts earn points for their Amazon e-gift cards through their Trail’s End Popcorn sales. The e-gift card code will go straight to the Scouts Trail’s End account and can be accessed through their app.

What do you call a bad popcorn joke?

Scouting Safely

Each year, heat-related illnesses strike the unprepared. Prevention is key! Be prepared by acclimating to the environment for 3 to 5 days before going on an outdoor adventure by drinking plenty of fluids, eating a healthy diet, and continuing to drink fluids when outdoors on hot or humid days. Be sure to drink only when you’re thirsty to avoid overhydrating.

Scout Brothers Receive Certificate of Merit

Oscar and Dwight Huss were home alone with their little brother George.  As George was jumping on the sofa his foot slipped through the back of the cushion and down into the frame.

He sliced his heel which began bleeding badly.

Oscar and Dwight immediately moved George to the bathroom to better assess the situation. One brother started applying pressure and the other called to have their mother return home.

Oscar and Dwight retrieved their First Aid kits, changed the bandage, and were considering the next steps of either leaving pressure applied or further cleaning the wound, when their mother arrived and decided to take George to Urgent Care for more advanced treatment.

Congratulations to Oscar and Dwight Huss upon receiveing the Council Certificate of Merit.
