BALOO - Practical Component

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including packing camping, overnighters and Webelos den overnighters.

BALOO training is comprised of two components – an online component, and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “Trained” Cub Scout outdoor leader and to receive the BALOO recognition patch. The online component contains introductory and basic information and must be completed prior to the practical component at my.scouting.org

What to Bring

All safety precautions will be taken and enforced based the CDC and state recommendations at the time of the training. More information will be provided closer to the training. Wearing a mask during the training might be required if local or state policy requires it. A comfortable camp chair is recommended! Disposable dishes and untensils will be provided. Tents should be at small as possible. Hammocks are allowed at this park. There is no access to electricity for CPAP equipment at the pari. There are showers and public restrooms at the park. Patrols will be limited to small groups. A rotation based skill training schedule will be implemented to reduce large group gatherings.
