Scouter/Scout Financial Assistance Request     

 

Sam Houston Area Council

                                                                                            

Financial assistance is available to assist Scouters or Scouts, registered in Sam Houston Area Council, who would like to participate in the Council’s leadership training courses – Wood Badge or NYLT.  Financial assistance is funded by donations collected at the annual Baden-Powell Fellowship Dinner.  Since these donations are limited, financial assistance funding is also limited.  A 50% (maximum) of the course fee may be awarded per Scouter or Scout and will be credited towards their registration fee.

Financial assistance is awarded based on financial need and are kept in strict confidence.

 

Financial Assistance Request Application Process

  1. Sign up for desired course (NYLT or Wood Badge) session in Double Knot.
  2. Choose “Send in Payment” option at checkout.
  3. Complete this online financial assistance request application.
  4. Once the application is completed online, it will be forwarded to the Baden-Powell Financial Assistance Committee for approval.
  5. The volunteer committee usually responds within two business days.  If the committee needs additional information, you will be contacted directly by one of the volunteers on the committee.
  6. Once a decision has been made, you will be notified by email from Support Services.
