Because NYLT is a challenging and intense six-day leadership course designed for mature youth, and because a youth is allowed to attend it only once, it may be in the best interest of the Scout and his/her unit to plan to attend a course that would best benefit the Scout and the unit. Our goal is for every Scout to leave NYLT with skills they can apply immediately as a leader in their home unit.
The minimum age for participants is 13 on the first day of the course; participant age cannot yet be 18 years old on the first day of the course (cannot yet be 21 years old for Venturers).
