NYLT Staff Search
If you enjoyed NYLT, and you want to make sure other Scouts have the same rewarding experience, then staffing may be for you. It is a lot of fun, but also requires dedication to hard work and preparation. Conducting a National Youth Leadership Training course takes a great deal of planning, plenty of inspiration, and the enthusiastic participation of many dedicated people. The rewards for participants, staff, and the Scouting movement are tremendous.
The Youth Training Committee will sponsor interviews on August 27 and September 10, 2016.
Interviews will be held at:
St. John the Divine Church
2450 River Oaks Blvd
Houston, 77019
The church campus is located at the corner of Westheimer and River Oaks Blvd.
Checklist for Staff Search:
- Wear the BSA Field Uniform for your program
- Prepare a 5-minute oral presentation on a Scouting topic or Scouting skill. Bring necessary props for your presentation.
- Participate in a 6-8 minute interview with experienced NYLT staffers about your experiences since NYLT.
- Complete this registration
There is no fee to register or attend. Confirmation of your interview time and additional information about the interview will be sent to you by email after your application is processed.
Applicants’ results will be made available to the NYLT Scoutmasters. Youth will not be aware of any evaluation or assessment for their presentation and interview, but may attend future Staff Search dates if they feel their performance might improve.
