NRA Training Courses Required to be a Firearms Instructor
NRA First Step Shooting Course
Course date is Oct 20th Camp Strake
Cost $75.00 payable to SHAC. No NRA fees associated with a 1st Steps Class ($1.50 additional fee if payment made online with credit card)
To become an NRA Instructor the candidates must first meet the pre-qualifications in the discipline they desire to teach. There are First Step courses for Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol and the prospective candidates must show their proficiency in safe gun handling and shooting skills. These courses are five to six hours long. The course covers gun safety, ammunition, the various shooting positions and live fire exercises on the range. This course is outline for what the instructors will be teaching the scouts for the Shooting Merit Badge.

Class will be held at the Little Lake Pavilion at the south side of Camp Strake. (Find Building “P” near Little Lake). Little Lake Pavilion at the south end of the camp between Little Lake and the pool, it’s building ‘P’.
