Chris Daniel was elected Harris County District Clerk in 2010 and took the oath of office on January 1, 2011. As District Clerk he serves on the Bail Bond Board, the JIMS Executive Board and the Harris County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. He also serves on the Legislative and Technology Committees of the County and District Clerks Association of Texas. Previously, he served as elected board member of the Lone Star College System.
Chris earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in mechanical engineering, and he holds a juris doctorate from the South Texas College of Law. As an engineer, Chris designed oilfield tools, managed projects and served as research project manager for National Oilwell Varco.
Chris and his wife, Jennifer, have one son, John. They are members of Second Baptist Church of Houston. He is an Eagle Scout; he volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Houston Food Bank, Target Hunger and is active in Rotary. He is a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and serves on the Gatekeeper and the Lamb and Goat Auction committees. He loves to travel and has visited more than 14 countries to date.
