Every pack, troop, team, crew, ship and post is encouraged to participate in Scout Fair! Units that participate at Scout Fair, with a booth or as a service unit, earn an additional 10% commission on Scout Fair Coupon Book Sales when registering by March 26, 2015. Units that register between March 27-March 31 will receive 5% commission. The registration deadline is March 31, 2015.

Scout Fair Booths: Every unit should consider sponsoring a booth at the fair. This is your opportunity to show our community what Scouting is all about, and to share your scouting skills with fellow Scouts and Scout Leaders. In the past, booths have included craft stations (Cub Scouts), rope making (Boy Scouts), orienteering (Venturing), and law enforcement (Exploring). Keep it simple and fun. By involving all the Scouts and parents in your unit, booth preparation and set-up, manning and take down can be shared to keep it simple and make it fun. Each unit hosting a booth will receive a ribbon. For more information regarding booth rules and regulations, please refer to the Scout Fair booth safety guidelines available at www.shac.org/scout-fair-leader-page. All fees for electricity, table or chair rentals must be pre-paid at the end of this registration by credit or debit card. Booth assignments (locatons) will be posted on www.facebook.com/shac.bsa and shac.org/scout-fair-leader-page no later than April 15, 2015. For questions, contact your district Scout Fair chair or district executive.  To comply with the city of Houston fire code deadline, units must register for a booth no later than Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Registration for both SERVICE and BOOTH Participation ends March 31, 2015.

Service Units: Units can participate in Scout Fair as a service unit. Service units must check-in at the COUNCIL CUSTOMER SERVICE BOOTH upon arrival to receive their service assignment. Scouts are needed in many ways to help at Scout Fair, whether helping to hand out flyers, unload boxes, or set up areas. Service units must have a minimum of 50% of their registered youth participating to receive the additional commission. Please follow youth protection guidelines and two-deep leadership is required.
