Come one and come all to the Texas Skies District Webelos Woods camping experience. Webelos Woods is a weekend event designed to give first and second year Webelos Scouts and their parents a preview of the Boy Scouting experience. The program reinforces Boy Scouting values, procedures, methods and skills. It is an introduction the Boy Scouts "boy led" program versus the "adult led" program used in Cub Scouts. All Boy Scout Troops are encouraged to attend and take part in the troop expo which is a chance for your troop to show off your Scouting skills and get groups of Webelos II excited about joining your troop. An OA led Arrow of light ceremony will be conducted at the event as well.
During Webelos Woods, each Webelos will have the opportunity to visit with real troops in our district as well as participate in a fun Camp-O-Ree style competition/skills building rotation. Each Webelos den will operate as its own patrol so make sure you get your whole group excited about this event. This year our event will be held at the Bovay Scout Ranch main camp. This will allow us the opportunity to present new programs at the event.
